The students of Omuhaturua Primary School had the opportunity to visit the NaDEET Center in February and take part in various workshops.
NaDEET is a vibrant, award-winning environmental education organization. At the heart of NaDEET’s projects are the environmental education centers. The NaDEET Center is located in the NamibRand Nature Reserve in the heart of the Namib Desert. The center offers participants a unique learning experience where they not only see and hear, but actively participate and experience what they are learning.
During the week-long course, the learners were taught about sustainable development and protection of the environment. The children were made aware of the impact their actions have on the environment. Through hands-on learning, NaDEET’s school programs encourage students to think and live more sustainably.
Through teamwork and leadership activities, learners acquire knowledge and skills for sustainable living. The NaDEET center environment allows students to apply what they have learned in the classroom to everyday life.
The costs for the stay at the NaDEET center (workshops, board & lodging) as well as the travel expenses of the learners and teachers were covered by Suni e.V.
